Africa

Just a quick post today. Lots of news from Sophie's group in Africa. Just have a peep at Africa Watch. Despite the grotty weather the garden is still producing great flowers but very poor runner beans.

Love in the mist, but nearly at its end now. The Sweet Peas are just about to start to flower. Pictures of them to come and maybe the odd bean!

Oh, Mary, you have gone Pink while I was travelling under the Blue Skies of Italy! Love it! (Have you ever visited Somepinkflowers?)
I feel slowly really kind of a bang of guilt, considering that I have been under a blue sky for so long (not that there haven't been wandering clouds up there, but they were good ones, either pretty to look at or bringing some welcome short rains).
I have to come back to catch up on your posts, you have been so prolific, and I see those newfangled clogs and you are talking about one of my favorite flowers coming up, Sweet Peas! I am looking forward to them, here they have long wilted in the heat, 37 here today, and no sign of relenting (I thank the gods that I don't have to venture about town, but think of those poor people who have to).

We have a few Love in the Mist too but ours are all faded. Lucky you having sweet peas ready to flower, ours have all been eaten by the snails - not one has survived!

PS Good luck with your decorating!

Hi Mary!

That's a nice photo! I enjoyed reading your "Weird Mary Facts". My feet are not very nice looking, either :o) I admire your speaking so kindly of your Mother and Father. I wish my Mom could visit, too...

Thank you for your kind words on my blog Mary. I like your love in a mist - I don't know that one very well, so it's nice to see it in the flesh so to speak!

I believe I too have Love in the mist in my garden (I received some seeds this spring from a fellow blogger in Germany, is it not fantastic to be a part of this blogging community?) but mine is not blooming yet. Thank you for you comment in my blog, I do get a few fruits out of my passionflower, but not enough to make anything special, so no recepies, unfortunately.
