Is hibernation complete?

January is the worse time to induce me to what amounts to hibernation. I musn't use the hate word but it is the time of the year that is my least favourite!! I have been such as bad blogger of late. The spirit is willing but the mind is faltering. I have however had to raise myself to the occaision to get to the Laura Ashley great sale, further 20% of all sale items until next Sunday, and for Soph's 27th birthday yesterday. So HB again Soph and heres a reminder of the cake. Not home made but 3 mini ones bought from Daphne's Cheesecake place on Smithdown Road, which is apparently quite famous locally.

Yes I did purchase in the LA sale and got some curtains and new bedding for the bedroom that needs a little TLC. we have ordered a new bed for here so now its wallpaper stripping and rubbish clearing out time which hopefully will give me a bit of get up and go!! Could everyone please pray for some proper daylight soon When it hasnt rained its just so grey and miserable. The very first signs of spring are slowly appearing. A few green shoots of early bulbs and when I was up early the other day I heard some birds singing!! So heres to spring may it arrive soon and get us all happy and productive.

MARY! YOU'RE BACK! I'm so excited! I've been worried about you. I've been checking in periodically...hoping to see a new post. And now here you are! Good to "see" you again. And wow - losing weight, too. I was happy for you that you've LOST 5 pounds. But I think I may have FOUND them so I don't know how much I can celebrate with you! lol
I, too, am just about ready for spring. The thrill of colder weather is waning for me. We still haven't gotten any snow so I figure that if there is to be no snow for us this winter, then it's time for winter to be over and done with. It's time for the grass to turn green and the flowers to start growing. (And now that I've said that, Mother Nature will keep this part of Texas at "near" freezing temperatures for another 3 months. lol).
Now don't you take another 4 weeks before you post something again! If you do, you need to provide your e-mail address so I can at least pester you that way to make sure you're doing okay.

:)

Nice to see you back Mary, I think we're all guilty of hibernating at the moment and we've got a few weeks to go before Spring arrives in earnest. Now I was very impressed at first glance, I thought you'd had a mammoth baking session! But the cakes look delicious and I don't think I could have resisted them either. Thanks for the tip about Laura Ashley, I must find time to have a quick look before Sunday.

Hi Mary, how I agree with your comments...this has been the most miserable January, but spring's not too far away. Love the grape hyacinths...they look cheery!

Hi Mary, it's so good to hear from you. I completely understand your winter doldrums. Even in this sunny land of NC, we've had many grey days, short in length and I truly miss daylight.

You are keeping busy in your home and that's what I plan to do soon. Paint, and have some floor work done. Need to window treatments, too!

I hope you get some sunshine real soon and see more blooming at your house :o) I'm ready for more light, too. Big sigh....

so glad you are back, have missed your posts and was beginning to worry. Cakes look delicious, but like hals the nation we have turned our attention to low fat, low sugar, low calorie everything which has resulted in most of us walking around with a very low bottom lip. Anway the weather here is strangely warm and bright, the last 2 januarys have been thick sbow and minus minus minus, hope this isn't the calm before the storm. I have even cleared all the pots in the garden today ready for new plants later in the spring. Don't leave it so long next time Mary.

Take care

Hi Mary,
Nice to see you back. Wish Sopie a happy birthday from me. I have to say that I did remember about a week ago and thought I must send good wishes to Sophie. Then for some reason the days all seems to run away with me and I have only just realised that it is 24th already.
Cakes look yummy you have to have a treat sometimes.
Cheers
Jenny
